Reflection
Through this post I will be going over the main scenes and what we learned throughout.
The 1st scene:
In this scene we would learn that acting is very hard is a group setting. Our opening scene was establishing the interior of our pizza restaurant. It was a dolly shot that went from the front to the back of the restaurant. Filming the scene using a gimbal was easy for Ethan but having 4 friends in on shot at once lead to many retakes. Every time one person would end up laughing. Eventually we go a useable take.
The over shoulder shots (Inside):
The over shoulder shots were not a standard over the shoulder. It was more of an eye line match/ POV shot. We learned that filming against a wall showed us that the character against the wall was not able to be in the shot without taking up most of the shot. So we opted to just move the character being spoken to and film directly at the character speaking.
Tracking shots:
For our tracking shots we learned that we needed to clear the building for the most part. This would lead to no one being in the way and not adding sounds that do not fit in. We also had to do these shots fast because the sun was setting and we did not want to have half the opening during the day then it randomly changes to night with no signified time change.
The Car scene:
This was a longer take shot that pans from Jake to Me. We learned that we had to turn the lights on in the car because the camera couldn't capture us in the dark. We also had a hard time with the sound because the road noise was louder than our voices.
